#tapto22 Challenge: A Groundbreaking Initiative by Battle Buddy Response Team for Suicide Prevention
The Battle Buddy Response Team, a non-profit organization dedicated to suicide prevention for veterans and their families, has made significant strides with their innovative #tapto22 Challenge on TikTok. This 22-day campaign started on December 27, 2023 with a goal of generating 22 million ‘taps’ by January 17th, 2024. December 27, 2023 and finishing it up January 17th, 2024
According to Battle Buddy Response Team founder Sam Rock, “It’s about bringing people together – one team, one fight, one family,”. The challenge, initially termed the ‘1 million tap challenge’, evolved into a much larger goal, gathering 1 million likes per day for 22 straight days. The #tapto22 Challenge is more than just a social media trend; it’s a call to action to support suicide prevention and to raise awareness about the vital work of the Battle Buddy Response Team. Participants are encouraged to tap the screen, share, and engage with content to spread the message further.
As the challenge approaches its final day on January 17th, 2024, the momentum doesn’t stop there. Beginning January 18th, 2024, Battle Buddy Response Team will launch ‘Military Talk with Tap Therapy’ sessions on TikTok (@battlebuddyresponseteam), daily at 4:30 pm EST, to continue the conversation and support for veterans.
This inaugural event has set a precedent for an annual campaign, with plans already underway for December 27, 2024. The Battle Buddy Response Team hopes to release a manual based on this year’s experience to enable others to participate in and host similar challenges.
“Each and every one of you can make a difference,” Sam adds, inviting more people to join in the initiative. With their motto of unity and support, the #tapto22 Challenge stands as a beacon of hope and solidarity in the fight against suicide.
